05/11/2017 - The 62nd Cork Film Festival takes place from November 10-19,  showcasing the best in Irish and international film. This year’s festival will screen more than 200 films, with the majority being Irish premieres.  One of the entrants this year is a short film called Mother & Baby produced by Alice McDowell and Mia Mullarkey.  Both Alice and Mia are film producers and Mia is the director and founder of Iska Films.  Iska Films is made up of a cross section of award winning directors writers and composers. They work in fiction, documentary, music video and are based in both Dublin and Galway.

The film Mother & Baby was made over the last year with input from survivors of the Tuam Mother & Baby Home.  The premiere screening of short films produced under Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board’s Focus Shorts and Real Shorts takes place on the 18th November in the Everyman Theatre, MacCurtain Street from 4pm.
