Consultations on the future of the burial site in Tuam.

Galway County Council has concluded the public consultation process on the five options identified in the Report of the Expert Technical Group on the Tuam site. Minister Zappone is awaiting the production of the facilitators’ report which will be based on the submissions received and the outcomes from the consultation events.

The Minister would like to thank the many individuals and groups who made written submissions and personal contributions to the process.

In addition, the Minister wishes to thank Galway County Council for facilitating the process and the members of the Expert Technical Group (ETG) for their contribution to the consultation events. The participation of the ETG provided an opportunity to further explain the technical issues involved and clarify the questions which participants raised.
